POSITION: ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF ANALYTICS

EFFECTIVE START DATE: Fall 2024

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s degree in a discipline directly related to data analytics (e.g. statistics, computer science, data science, data modeling, predictive analytics) from an accredited university plus 3+ years of industry experience in Analytics/Data Science. Candidates must be able to develop and teach courses within the analytic disciplines at the undergraduate and graduate level.

DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Preference will be given to candidates who possess a Ph.D. or Doctorate in a discipline directly related to data analytics from an accredited university. While ABD’s close to completion will be considered, preference will be given to candidates who have completed all requirements for the Ph.D., have an established record of quality teaching and research, and have teaching experience using the latest instructional technology.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate experience and expertise in the application of data analytics to contemporary business problems, including the collection, organization, extraction of data from complex databases, and communication. Ideally candidates should be able to show competency in multiple programming languages, statistical analysis software, and/or other analytics tools.

DUTIES: The successful candidate will develop and teach courses within the analytic discipline. Courses taught will be at both the undergraduate level and at the graduate level as assigned, to qualified individuals. Courses may be taught during the traditional day format as well as evening/online/blended formats as assigned. The successful candidate may be asked to engage in interdisciplinary teaching outside the academic department.

The successful candidate will be expected to advise undergraduate and graduate students, participate in faculty committee work and faculty development, and engage in scholarship as well as service to the broader community.

Candidates must be able to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with departmental colleagues in an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.
