DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS & COMPUTER SCIENCE FACULTY POSITION IN COMPUTER SCIENCE POSITION: OPEN RANK FACULTY OF COMPUTER SCIENCE EFFECTIVE DATE: Fall Semester, 2025 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s in Computer Science or similar field with preference of Ph.D. Rank determined by experience and credentials. Tenure track position for Ph.D. candidates and Professor of Practice position for non-Ph.D. candidates. DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: a commitment to teaching excellence, an active program of scholarship appropriate for a Liberal Arts institution, and prior successful teaching at post-secondary level. Experience leading curriculum is a plus. DUTIES: Responsibilities include teaching a broad range of computer science courses. A willingness to support the mission of the University, familiarity with current trends in computer science and computer science education, as well as the ability to use instructional technology to enhance students learning is expected of the successful candidate. Ideal candidate would be someone that could bring a new vision and direction to the department in terms of the curriculum and areas to pursue within the program. Ideally the candidate is able to support our Data Science major as well. Other duties include active involvement in activities to stay current in their field, advising students, and University, professional and public service. There is also opportunity to teach service courses and contribute to the general education core. Note: This position is contingent on funding.
